With the hotfly D-RIB STANDARD you can tie large nymphs' bodies or small streamers. It is a synthetic wire with a diameter of 1.2mm that must be wrapped around the shank of the hook and with a few simple steps you will be able to tie very realistic artificial flies. Thanks to its semi-cylindrical shape you will be able to simulate the segments of the insect's abdomen in a similar way to real ones.

The D-RIB STANDARD is a tinsel produced by the Italian company Hotfly and is mainly used to tie the bodies of artificial flies. The STANDARD size is the biggest available in our online fly fishing shop and for this reason it can be used to tie large nymphs or streamer bodies, in fact the diameter of this synthetic cord is 1.2mm. As you can see from the picture below, the final effect is very interesting because it emulates quite faithfully the abdominal segments of the real insect.

In addition to the 1.2mm STANDARD size, the 0.7mm MICRO size and the 0.9mm MINI size are also available.

The secret to tie this fly tying material in the correct way is to tie it along the entire shank of the hook with the tying thread, leaving only a little space before the tungsten bead to tie the thorax. Once this is done, wrap the D-RIB with tight coils until the desired body length is created, fix the end with the tying thread and cut the excess with scissors.
