Hotfly's CDC FEATHERS SUPER SELECTED are the result of a careful selection in which you will find only the highest quality material. The medium/large length of these feathers makes them particularly suitable for split thread, being easier to handle with the hare clips. The flotation properties of CDC are extraordinary and therefore it is particularly suitable to tie dry flies, but its versatility makes it an excellent fly tying material also for wet flies and nymphs. CDC is used to realize tails, bodies, legs and wings.

The characteristic with which Hotfly's CDC FEATHERS SUPER SELECTED stand out from the others is certainly their size. Inside the package you will find feathers of various sizes but for the most part they will be feathers quite long.

A long feather compared to a short one makes all the necessary steps to remove the barbs from the rachis much easier with the Hare Clips, being much easier to handle with your fingers. The amount of barbs per feather will also be greater than for shorter feathers, so you can tie large artificial flies without any problems.

If you use the cul de canard mainly to make split threads using the appropriate hare clips, this selection of feathers is definitely the best choice.

The quality of the feathers that distinguishes the CDC SUPER SELECTED is among the best you can find on the market and has gained consensus among the best fly tiers in Italy.

The strong point of the cul de canard lies in its floatability, which no other feather can match. When used to tie dry flies it gives the best of itself, but more and more often it is also used to tie wet flies and nymphs.

By fishing with wet fly, the CDC allows you to stop your imitation just below the surface of the water. This area is ideal for fishing especially when the trout are focused on eating the insects that, during hatching, rise from the bottom of the river towards the surface.

The versatility of the CDC allows you to make it:

  • Code
  • Bodies
  • Paws
  • Wings
