Like all cul de canard selections made by Hotfly, the CDC TOP SELECTED is of excellent quality. The medium/short length of these feathers makes them suitable to tie small artificial flies. Working them with hare clips is not impossible, but certainly given their size they are more suitable for other uses such as creating small tufts, wrapping them whole around the hook or using the tip of the feather to imitate the wings of the insect.
Thanks to the unique features of the CDC you can use it not only to tie super floating dry flies but also to tie wet flies and nymphs. The cul de canard has such a wide range of uses because it can effectively imitate many parts of the insect, such as:
- Tails
- Bodies
- Legs
- Wings

The natural feather that is dyed to obtain the various colours does not have homogeneous shades. It is therefore possible that there may be feathers inside the package that are slightly lighter or darker than the colours you see in the photo.
